Youth & Families

In the Hebrew School program for grades (K-6) children develop Hebrew reading and service participation, with an emphasis on self-paced learning and individual attention. The children bake for Shabbat and holidays, have a variety of community service and creative activities, and build a Jewish community.

The elementary class meets on Sundays from 10:30am - 12:30pm.

The Bar and Bat Mitzvah Program meets on Thursdays between 3 and 5PM.

The teaching staff includes Rhonda Wainshilbaum, classroom teacher, Rabbi Andrea Cohen-Kiener, and Naomi Cope aide. Peggy Davis and Joe Kurland offer programs for some of our students in West County.

Families enrolling their children in the Hebrew School or Bar/Bat Mitzvah program are asked to join Temple Israel.

Jewish Holidays Community Programs are open to all families. Please join us for First Fridays (pizza dinner and shabbat songs) Sukkot, Chanuka, Purim and Passover experiences.

Call the Temple Israel Office at 413-773-5884 or click here for a registration form.
