Temple Israel in Greenfield has been the center of Jewish life in Franklin county for over 100 years. Nestled in the beautiful hills of western Massachusetts, our members have been farmers, activists, business people, politicians, teachers, and artists. Community, a culture of sharing, and resilience are core values at TIG. We value music, spirituality, prayer, and quiet meditation. We strive to support each other in our human development.
We value education. On-going classes for children and adults have included everything from pickling and other sustainable living practices to bar mitzvah training.
We value diversity. Services are heartfelt and vary in style. Reb Andrea is trained in Jewish renewal. Other guests leaders bring their gifts, ranging from European to Sephardic and beyond.
Our High Holiday services are open to the public. There are always open seats available to anyone who would like to join us. We offer children’s services on the first day of Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur, and provide child care to those who register for it in advance.
See our calendar for other holiday services and events. You are welcome to visit or to attend our services and community programs.
