The Beit Ahavah will be hossting a series of events in celebration of the tenth anniversary of Rabbi Riqi Kosovske's ordination and of her leadership at Beit Ahavah as well as forty years of women in the rabbinate.
Women in the Rabbinate: Shifting the Paradigm, Sunday, May 7, 4 to 5:30 p.m. A community-wide panel of accomplished women rabbis will share their triumphs, challenges, and visions of women rabbis' impact on Judaism. Rabbis will include Rabbi Kosovske, Rabbi Andrea Cohen-Kiener of Temple Israel of Greenfield, Rabbi Jodie Gordon of Hevreh of Great Barrington, and others. The program also celebrates the success of "The Sacred Calling: Four Decades of Women in the Rabbinate," (CCAR Press, 2016), winner of the National Jewish Book Award. The book will be available for sale at the event. Proceeds will be used to support Beit Ahavah. A recdeption follows the panel.
Nava Tehila performs at service: Friday, May 12, 6 to 7:30 p.m. A Friday night service led by the Nava Tehila ensemble from the heart of Jerusalem with a reception to follow.
Prayer service accompanied by acoustic instruments. Joining us are the group's leaders and composers Daphna Rosenberg and Yoel Sykes from Israel and Spain. Original melodies designed to make people more comfortable in engaging in prayer. The evening also includes a graduation blessing for 12th grade seniors and their families.
