Eventide Songs of Hope and Comfort - Workshop & Participatory Concert

TI is proud to host Eventide Singers for a participatory concert exploring the role of music and presence in hospice and recovery care.
Eventide has almost 10 years of bringing comfort, inspiration and harmony to home-bound individuals, the gravely ill and their caregiver teams. Donations invited; all are welcome.
Superbia/Permaculture Study Series; 4-7

Community building continues with the second in the series called Superbia. Neighbors and members of Temple Israel come together for a pot luck (vegetarian please!) dinner to study and plan ways to make our neighborhood more connected, resilient and productive!
Topic of the day is: Envisioning Exercise: Using neighborhood opportunities and needs to envision redesign. Meeting to be followed by a vegetarian pot luck.

On Sunday, April 30, from 2-4 pm, we will be cleaning up the Temple garden. Please come with shovels, pruners, rakes, trowels, work gloves, loppers, and any other garden tools that might come in handy.
Kol Isha: A Concert of Jewish Music

Voces Feminae, dir. Catherine Bell, Presents Kol Isha: A Concert of Jewish Music. Music from across the diaspora, including works by Salamone Rossi, wordless Ashkenazi tunes, and Sephardic folk songs from Spain, Bosnia and Turkey. Included: heartbreak, advice from mothers to daughters, lullabies, liturgy, and at least one song about a king.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Mak'hela Spring Concert to honor Jewish Family Services' work with refugees

Mak'hela: The Jewish Chorus of Western Massachusetts, will conclude its 14th season with its first-ever concert in Robyn Newhouse Hall at the Community Music School of Springfield (CMSS). The "Building Bridges of Peace" concert, which will take place Sunday, May 21, 2017, at 2:00pm, will also feature members of the Layaali Arabic Music Ensemble, a Massachusetts-based group of musicians specializing in Arabic music, and will honor the New American Program, an initiative of Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Western Massachusetts dedicated to resettling refugees in the local area.
