There will be a brief service inside of the shul between 9:30 – 10am prior to hakafos/circuit dancing with the Torah outside!
Come celebrate the Torah!
We’re closing Myrtle Street to have a Torah celebration. Music with the Myrtle Street Klezmer Band for dancing in the street. Brattleboro Area Jewish Community is joining us for this celebration.
We’ll UNROLL the TORAH and witness it in all its beauty. This is an amazing opportunity for kids to see all the written Hebrew letters of the Torah and how they’re arranged on the scroll. Unrolling of the Torah will begin around 11am.
Dance party followed by POTLUCK lunch in the Social Hall at noon!
This program is made possible by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and the Jewish Federation of Western Mass.
**There will be no parking on Myrtle Street so plan to park on Pierce Street or on side streets Holly, Quincy or Linden.***We will be unrolling the Torah in a circle so everyone can see what the Torah looks like- we’ll need everyone to help holding pages as we unroll and talk about different sections before we leyn/chant the last chapter (Devarim/Deut.) and the first chapter (Bereishis/Gen.)!
