Friday Mikvah River Immersion at Gardeners Falls, Fridays at 4:15-5pm.
Beginning June 2, mikveh immersions will happen most every Friday until the cold chases us away.
These gatherings are simple. We start with setting the kavanah, the intention for our immersion, for getting ready to move from weekday into Shabbat. Combining short check-ins, teachings and visualizations, we prepare together for immersion. Immersing is the most important part, letting the river re-freshen. We immerse in pairs or trio's, with bathing suits...(it is a public beach after all).
Please note: We are adapting the traditional ritual form. We gather as a coed group and wearing swimsuits. Everyone creates their own experience in a shared, supportive space. If Mikvah is new to you, like it is for most of us, do not worry. All are welcome for this simple renewing ceremony.
We meet at Gardeners Falls in SF:
Just travel from Shelburne Falls South, towards Conway, and take the first left onto Gardeners Falls Road. Barely a half mile south of town. Park on the left right away, past the woodpile and follow the trail down the steps (behind the woodpile). Bird's eye view here
