Saturday, March 25 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Weaving community in the cold dark months, we are taking advantage of the skills and curiosities of Temple Israel community for a series of 6 Havdalah Meet-ups.
This week’s Havdalah Meet-up is with Susan Hollins: Giving up Rachmaninoff and Scriabin for Shostakovich and Mendelsohn. When interests in classical music and Jewish identity combined, Susan researched piano composers who were actively antisemitic or supportive of Jewish composer colleagues. This is a talk with piano examples of music by Simon, Mana Zuca, and others.
This event will be on Zoom only. Email the office for the Zoom link. We’ll say havdalah, the blessings that end Shabbat, and engage in great conversations!
