Full Schedule: Scholar in Residence Weekend ~ Jewish Views of the Afterlife

Friday December 9, 2016Rabbi Doctor Simcha Paull Raphael will be our scholar in residence this year, offering an array of programs on Jewish views of life, death and the afterlife. Simcha is the Director of Death Advocacy, Awareness and Training. He is a nationally regarded teacher in the area of Jewish death practices and teachings. Simcha is the author of several books including Jewish Views of the Afterlife, available in our library. 7:00 p.m. During the Friday night service, Simcha will share what we can learn from the Torah about the final stages of Jacob and Joseph, entitled “Guidelines from the Torah for Conversations that Matter.”This event is free and open to the public. Kiddush (light refreshements) will follow. This is the final event in our week long scholar in residence program with Dr Simcha Paull Raphael, directory of Death Advocacy, Awareness and Training Institute.
