Family Education Coordinator and herbalist Alyssa Bauer will lead a 3 week series of Shabbat afternoon adventures that focus on winter tree medicine. During this Shmita year, Jewish law and tradition focus on the Shabbat of the land– rest, rejuvenation, and release. What can trees tell us about rest? What does Shabbat rest and have in common with winter rest? What medicine do trees provide in the winter? Dress warmly and come ready for a variety of activities and exploration that will connect us to Shabbat, self-care, environmental care and contemporary Jewish environmental values.
No one turned away for lack of funds and sliding scale available.
