Thursday, January 16, 2020 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Thursday, January 23, 2020 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm
This interactive class led by Justin Sundell-Thomas will explore the basics of tefilah, or Jewish prayer, with the goal of providing tools for developing deeper personal and communal prayer practice. Using the siddur as a jumping off point, we will familiarize ourselves with traditional and contemporary elements of daily Jewish prayer, consider ways to create a personally meaningful daily practice, discuss barriers we may face integrating regular tefilah into our lives, and strategize to overcome those barriers.
- Session 1: Shacharit, the morning service;
- Session 2: Arvit: the evening service;
- Session 3: Shabbat, the day of rest and reflection;
- additional future sessions possible.
