Children’s Programs for Yom Kippur

Wednesday, October 12, 2016 @ 10:00 am

Children’s Holiday crafts will be offered between 10 and 2 on Yom Kippur. There will also be a storytelling session for kids and adults 4-5 at the temple. This Yom Kippur, from 4-5pm, at Temple Israel, on October 12, we will re-enact, through fun and engaging improvisational theater, the story of Jonah and the whale. Then, we will also create visual art about our experience and/or reflect through writing and discussion. This is an ALL-AGES adventure, and inclusive of all physical abilities and experience levels in theater or moving. Everyone who comes participates at the level they can! The story will be told as we create it together, and in doing so, the goal is to learn afresh lessons that may affect our lives and support our communal and individual process on the Highest Holy Day of the year. If you’d like a part in advance please call Jodi Falk at 413-522-4386 or email her at [email protected] There can be many Jonahs, and parts also include the water, a ship, and G!d. Otherwise, show up and join in the fun and learning.
