This awe-inspired, Shabbat induced, quiet and contemplative strolling service led by Maggid David Arfa is back for a new year. All are welcome to this High Ledges Shabbat experience!
This is an easy hike filled with walking meditations and wonder; restful sounds of songbirds and wind and soothing sights of trees and forests, field and brook. Our intention is to connect with the land, Jewish tradition, each other and our own hearts. All the while, we will explore what that small three letter word might mean to us...G?D. Wonderfully, this English word comes from the medieval word Gott, which is actually a verb, 'To Invoke'. What might the Hebrew imply? Together, rooted in wonder, we shall see what this time together will invoke in us all. All experience levels welcome. See below for some inspiration from Rachel Carson and Abraham Joshua Heschel on Wonder.
Please RSVP to [email protected] if you would like to join in. We'll meet at the second parking area, down the hill and linger by the cars a tad longer if we are expecting you. Bring your own water, and snacks to share at Kiddush- I'll provide the grape juice and challah. Please share this note with anyone who may be interested- as always, these services are offered free of charge. All are welcome. This year, these services are again supported by the Tiferet Center.
