Purim Carnival

Join us for a festive Purim Celebration!

5 PM Games & Merriment
5:30 PM Meal
6:00 PM Music & Dancing with Temple Israel's Klezmer Learners Group and the Children's Choir
6:30 PM Megillah Reading (recitation of the book of Esther) and shpeils (fanciful plays and vignettes based on the megillah). The first 15 minutes will be family friendly and/or led by the children.

Come one ~ come all. Costumes encouraged.

Sephardi Shabbat

Come for a special Shabbat evening celebrating Sephardi culture. Dinner and blessings at 6PM followed by a Sephardi song sing-a-long led by Justin Sundell-Thomas, backed up by The Frumkiss Family Business!

Main dish and some sides will be provided. Your contributions of Sephardi sides and desserts are very welcome!

Purim Players Unite

We're setting aside two Sunday evenings before Purim to stage and act out some of the scenes and music of a Purim tale. Show time is Purim eve, Monday March 9, 5-7PM.

Teens and Adults, the playful and the prayerful are all welcome to help with the story telling.

The Relevance of the Jewish Jesus with Liz Kelner

Friend and congregant Liz Kelner will lead a discussion on The Relevance of Jewish Jesus in the Context of Antisemitism and Our Place in a Christian World after services and kiddush lunch. Liz's approach to this topic offers the opportunity for personal integration and interfaith reconciliation.

Temple Israel will provide a main course, please bring sides or desserts to supplement if you are able.

Workshop on the Sacred Work of Grief with Sher Sweet

Workshop on the Sacred Work of Grief
Sher Sweet invites you to an exploration of ideas presented in Francis Weller's book The Wild Edge of Sorrow. This workshop will include Sher's presentation of key ideas in the book, discussion and writing exercises. Sher is a spiritual counselor for Hospice.
Join us on Monday, January 27th, 6:30-8:30. Light refreshments will be provided.
