Dear Temple Israel Family,
We hope you are well and are successfully navigating the winter darkness and the continuing limitations imposed by Covid. For the second year, so much in our lives has changed. Despite this, the range of programs, services, and educational offerings at the Temple has remained robust. This is a tribute to Rabbi Andrea, Alyssa, Kate, Sara-Evelyn, Chrissy, Carlos, Volunteers, and the Board. We thank them for their tireless efforts to maintain Temple Israel as a vibrant center of Jewish life in Franklin County during these troubling times.
With the return of the Light, so too has come the time for our Annual Appeal fundraising letter. Let us begin with some humor!
A visitor to Israel went to a concert and a recital at the Moskowitz Auditorium. He was very impressed with the acoustics and the architecture. He asked the tour guide, “Was this magnificent auditorium named after Chaim Moskowitz, the famous Talmudic scholar?” “No,” said the tour guide, “it was named after Sam Moskowitz, the writer.” The visitor responded, “I never heard of him. What did he write?” The tour guide quipped, “A Check!”
The Finance Committee is pleased to report that our operational budget is stable, we have no debt, we now have a Contingency Fund, and there are many improvements to our Temple building. This is possible due to the sustained and enduring generosity of our Members. THANK YOU, ONE AND ALL!
- We hope you are able to drive by the Temple and see the new siding on the Sanctuary building
- There is a beautiful new floor in the social hall to admire
- On the lower level all the tile floors have been stripped & waxed – they look great!
- Painting projects both inside & outside will begin in the Spring
- We hope to install a back-up generator over the Summer
- We will soon be getting new cushions for the Sanctuary pews
To avoid debt and save for our future, we need more than just enough money to cover our routine expenses. So we ask you to consider supplementing your dues with a generous contribution to our Annual Appeal according to your means and in appreciation of Temple Israel. This year, the Finance Committee has set a goal of $6,000. Here are some suggested levels of support.
- Participant – $18 or more
- Patron – $100 or more
- Sponsor – $250 or more
- Benefactor – $500 or more
- Leader – $750 or more
- Pillar – $1,000 or more
- Shamus – $1,500 or more
We thank you in advance for your Heartfelt consideration and Generosity. Please make checks payable to Temple Israel and note “Annual Appeal” in the memo. You may also pay online at https://templeisraelgreenfield.org/payments/ .
Shalom, with deep Appreciation for Your Support, Temple Israel Finance Committee
