Remember, all are welcome to attend an Arts Weekend Recap Meeting.
Think about the future.
Next Monday, April 24th, 7-8:30
On Sunday, April 30, from 2-4 pm, we will be cleaning up the Temple garden. Please come with shovels, pruners, rakes, trowels, work gloves, loppers, and any other garden tools that might come in handy.
Neighbors and members of TI are invited to the site of our first Superbia/Neighborhood Resilience project - the Myrtle Street Garden. We'll meet at the temple - 27 Pierce St - to plan our garden!
Marianne Bullock of Center for New Americans will meet with us at T.I.on March 30th at 1 pm. She will update us about how we can support migrants and refugees in our community.
Friend of TI, artist Mona Shiber, is displaying her charming, touching multi-media sculpture of hands - and our own Rabbi Andrea will read palms at the opening! Donations will support TI's food justice projects.
The monthly meeting of the ritual committee will be held in the temple library from 5-6:30PM. We turn our attention to our on-going dialogues and... The High Holidays!
Community building continues with the second in the series called Superbia. Neighbors and members of Temple Israel come together for a pot luck (vegetarian please!) dinner to study and plan ways to make our neighborhood more connected, resilient and productive!
4-7 at Temple Israel
Due to the lovely Hadassah Shabbat service and chocolate themed refreshements, we will not meet for First Friday dinner this month. Please join us April 7th.
If you are a bystander witnessing a harmful situation, you have a choice to make. Do you do something? What do you do?
Suggested donation $10-20 (but no one turned away).
We are very pleased to be working with rabbis and activists in the valley to bring Ali Abu Awad to the area. Ali will speak at Congregation Bnai Israel on Tuesday evening, February 28 beginning at 7:00PM. Ali abu Awad is an author, non-violence educator and peace activist in the West Bank.
Check out his Ted X talk here
The talk is a fund raiser for Ali's new project, Taghyeer
